The Conference for the Support of ILO Convention on Gender-Based Violence and Sexual Harassment at Work



On March 14, The Conference for the Support of ILO Convention on Gender-Based Violence and Sexual Harassment at Work brought together representatives from trade unions, civil society and international organizations.

In the conference, part of the panel was Luljeta Demolli who together with Adelina Berisha from KWN presented the work of their organizations in addressing harassment and gender-based violence through their research reports and projects. Another participant of the panel was also Shukrije Rexhepi from Women's Network of BSPK who discussed about their cooperation with non-governmental organizations in Kosovo's recommendations regarding the ILO Convention.

The conclusions deriving from the conference are:
- Inform and raise awareness of women and men about their rights and how to report gender-based violence in the workplace;
- Improve the cooperation between trade unions and non-governmental organizations with justice institutions for the reporting and imposition of punishment for people who exercise violence or sexual harassment at work.
- Increase the accountability of the justice institutions and impose penalties for civil servants who do not respect their work ethics and discriminate on gender-basis.
