About Kosovar Center for Gender Studies and Dora Dores

I. Introduction

Kosovar Center for Gender Studies is the leading gender-focused organization in Kosovo and the region. In almost 10 years of its existence, it has contributed to gender mainstreaming and achievement of gender equality in all spheres of life.

A significant portion of KGSC activities in its 10 years of existence has focused on building, improving and monitoring implementation of gender-related legislation. Cutting-edge advocacy tools and practices, effective monitoring of implementation of laws through extensive research and observations, awareness raising with target audiences (women, but in some instances also men), have been some of the instruments applied by KGSC in the past.

Centre for Counselling and Support for Women (Dora Dores) is women’s non-governmental organization formed in 2002 by women with professional backgrounds in social sciences in Prizren region. The mission taken upon by Centre for Counselling and Support for Women (Dora Dores) consists of increasing the active participation of the community of women in decision-making processes. Consequently, Centre for Counselling and Support for Women( Dora Dores) has built a solid experience in the design and implementation of Gender Policy documents. In addition, Centre for Counselling and Support for Women (Dora Dores) provides valuable services and advice to women and promotes gender equality concepts with the local government institutions, members, and partners.

The Kosovar Gender Studies Center (KGSC) in cooperation with its project partner Centre for Counselling and Support for Women (Dora Dores) is implementing the project “Equality and Gender Mainstreaming Across Borders” Funded by the European Union Cross-Border Cooperation Programme the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia – Kosovo”, is pleased to announce call for proposal for small-scale advocacy initiatives for women organizations in Municipalities of Prizren, Suhareka, Malisheva, Dragash, Rahovec, and Mamusha.

This call for proposal for financial support fee of up to 5000 EUR for small-scale advocacy initiative for Gender issues across policies and practices mainstreamed.

The Overall objective of the project Funded by the European Union for project Cross-Border Cooperation Programme the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia – Kosovo. “Equality and Gender Mainstreaming Across Borders” is to establish a cross-border network of women organizations active in gender mainstreaming at local and regional level. With women NGOs in the border-regions between Kosovo and Macedonia having very little interaction with one another despite the shared concerns and challenges, the project seeks to provide an opportunity for facilitating exchange and foster cooperation and networking in the project covered area.

II. Application

In order to apply for Support fee for small –scale advocacy initiative, the applicant organization should submit the following:

1) Application Form- which includes the kinds of activities that will be implemented and the time period in which they will occur.

Support fee for small –scale advocacy initiative will be given to local women’s civil-society organizations which submit project proposals focusing on the following areas:

  • Gender- based violence
  • Mainstreaming gender issues across policies and practices
  • Awareness raising campaigns on women rights/workshops/trainings

2) Budget Form-should include the detailed budget expense for the implementation of the project. The budget must be designed in line with the proposed activities in the application. Since the support fee do not surpass the amount of 5000Euros, we suggests that applicants Support fee for small –scale advocacy initiative is especially directed at people (women) who live in poverty, rural and remote areas and are regarded as particularly disadvantaged part of population, and prefers if the organization do not spend a lot on administrative costs of their organization.

Support fee will be provided to civil society organizations within Municipalities of (Municipalities of Prizren, Suhareka, Malisheva, Dragash, Rahovec, and Mamusha) (non-governmental women organizations)

3) Registration document -The registration letter of the organization should be attached to the proposal.

4) The proposed staff-CVs or short biography of the people who will implement the project should be submitted.

  • Application Deadline

Interested organizations should submit the following documents by Monday, 15th of February 2016 .

The applications may be submitted in Albanian or English language.
